Welcome, friends! My name is Brandon Grate. I’m a lifestyle photographer based in Charlotte, North Carolina.

I am so glad you stumbled upon my site. My canvas that displays all of my art.

When I was a kid, I was a constant dreamer. Head always lost in the clouds and not much has changed since, only now, I dream of things and create them with a camera in hand.

For me, photography was only a hobby. Then, in the fall of 2015 things changed. A dear friend asked me if I would take her graduation photos. Never one to back away from an opportunity to be creative, I said HECK YES! During the session, my friend’s boyfriend overheard us discussing when they might be getting engaged. Shortly thereafter, her boyfriend ended up jumping in a few shots with her. When the moment was right, he got down on one knee and proposed to his soon-to-be wife. From then on, I knew photography had to be my life’s work.

Every time that I get the opportunity to create, it’s rooted in love. My clients are incredibly special to me because they trust me enough to let me into their lives, to be vulnerable with me and let me capture the most precious of moments to be relived again & again. Beautiful moments should never end, but here is where they begin.

10 fun facts about me:

1. Despite being 6’6, I did not play basketball as a child or teenager. As a matter of fact, I’m not a big sports fan at all. Pretty ironic considering my father actually eats, sleeps and breathes it.

2. My favorite television show of all time is The Golden Girls. I can probably recite each episode word for word at this point.

3. I have a degree in Mass Communication with a concentration in Broadcasting.

4. I love being behind the camera, but I think I was a model in a past life because I enjoy being in front of the lens just as much.

5. If I wasn’t doing photography, I’d definitely want to be a fashion designer.

6. When I was in middle school, I ripped a mole off of a classmate’s back. Don’t panic, it was an accident.

7. I think it’s rude to place things on flat surfaces if someone has their hand out to retrieve it. Actually, this is my biggest pet peeve.

8. My biggest obsession is the Hermes Birkin Bag. I’ve wanted one since I was 13.

9. Although I don’t get to do it as much as I’d like, I love to bowl. I’m actually pretty good. 150 average.

10. A lot of my inspiration comes from my friends, most of which are women, but they have great stories and they inspire me be better and push harder.
